CSX: High-speed rail plans would displace freight trains

Communities bent on building high-speed rail networks ought to know that passenger trains could take freight trains off the tracks, according to CSX. "Each 110 mph Amtrak train displaces six freight trains," said Maurice O'Connell, a CSX vice president. CSX, which is working with New York communities on high-speed rail plans, is advocating for separate, dedicated tracks for passenger rail in the name of safety.
