Discovery has started testing some shows in 3-D

Discovery Communications, which launches a 24-hour 3-D channel with Sony and Imax next year, is experimenting with 3-D technology for popular shows such as TLC's "Cake Boss" and Animal Planet's "River Monsters," but it has not yet made any final decisions on the matter, according to this report. But filming Discovery's "Deadliest Catch" in 3-D apparently is out of the question at the moment: The turbulent seas create too much camera movement, and crews can often lose their equipment overboard.
