FDA issues a warning letter to maker of autism supplement

The FDA issued a warning letter to retired chemist Boyd Haley and his company, CTI Science, for promoting a potentially harmful, unapproved drug as "a toxicity-free, lipid soluble antioxidant dietary supplement" for children with autism. The product, OSR#1, was found in animal studies to cause hair loss and pancreatic malfunction, among other side effects, according to the agency.
