Group aims to help women-business owners find funding, success

Sharon Vosmek, CEO of nonprofit Astia, which helps startups headed by women, says information gleaned from a recent summit contradicted some long-held assumptions about women-business owners and showed male and female entrepreneurs generally have the same education level, economic background, needs and challenges. "Women, though, are better at building relationships and place greater importance on the moral support, expertise, and financial backing of business partners, while men need far less encouragement from others," she writes.
