Obama: Twitter could replace the Kremlin hot line

The White House's "red phone" hot line to the Kremlin has been made obsolete by Twitter, according to a joking comment by President Barack Obama. Meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Obama said that because he and his Russian counterpart were on Twitter, "we may be able to finally throw away those red phones that have been sitting around for so long." However, Obama's social savvy may still need some fine-tuning: during the meeting, he mistakenly referred to the service as "Twitters."
