Roof-top solar systems popping up in Central California

Roof-top solar systems are getting a boost in Central California. The Visalia Costco Wholesale warehouse recently installed about 3,100 panels on its roof. Walmart Stores installed a 554-kilowatt solar power system at its Hanford, Calif., store early last year, which generates about 15% of the store's electricity. And Kohl's department store, which began its solar program in Central California in 2007, now has 86 solar locations nationwide with a goal of reaching 100 locations in the coming months.
