Senators: Ban would cost jobs, damage Gulf economy

The federal government's attempted ban on deepwater drilling drew fire from both sides of the political aisle Thursday. Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said the freeze would result in "additional unnecessary economic harm to a region that is already suffering." Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., meanwhile, said the moratorium would mean job losses in her state.
