Sports bars, gels efficiently power longer workouts

Few people get enough calories and carbs from sports drinks during a long workout, so researchers said many turn to more concentrated forms, such as sports bars and sports gels. Their study of male cyclists found carbohydrates from gels and sports bars were metabolized as quickly and as efficiently as those from sports drinks.
