Virginia county OKs 6-year, nearly $122M Metro improvement plan

Arlington County, Va., plans to invest $121.6 million over six years to upgrade its portion of the Washington-area Metro system. The investment is part of the Metro transit agency's $5 billion improvement plan. "If our infrastructure falls apart, if our buildings leak, if our trails have holes in them, then we are not doing our full job, and we've got to focus on that," said Mary Hynes, a member of the Arlington County Board.
