Retail chains look to fill vacant S. Fla. store space

More national retailers including Dick's Sporting Goods, hhgregg, Aldi, Save-A-Lot and The Fresh Market are moving into spaces left vacant before and during the downturn, when chains including Circuit City, Borders, Blockbuster and Linens 'N Things closed stores. Vacancy rates soared during the recession and lease rates hit an all-time low last year, making the space more attractive to national chains, said broker Gary Broidis.
