Common core among top 3 priorities, IT professionals say

A panel of educators at the ISTE conference held in San Antonio, Texas this week discussed the findings of a recent report in which a majority of school information technology professionals said the Common Core State Standards are among their top three priorities. Panelists noted that making sure educators are prepared to teach the new standards should go hand-in-hand with rolling out new technology. "Getting our curriculum people to model [common-core instructional techniques] is a huge first step," said Doug Renfro, an instructional designer for Metro Nashville Public Schools.
