DISH will ponder its options after Sprint failure

DISH Network's decision Friday to abandon its takeover pursuit of Sprint Nextel left analysts speculating on the satellite provider's remaining options to pursue partnerships as it looks to enter the wireless broadband arena. Charlie Ergen's company might restart merger discussions with rival DIRECTV or talk to T-Mobile US, they said. "By process of elimination, DISH is going to be dragged kicking and screaming into what was the best option from the beginning: a merger with DirecTV," said Craig Moffett of Moffett Research.
