Elementary-school students compete in school math contest

A New Jersey elementary school put students in some of its classes to the test with a math bowl in which students were tasked with solving problems like calculating the number of pictures it would take to fill a bulletin board with specific dimensions. "In addition to sharpening math skills, this exercise teaches cooperation and social skills," teacher and contest organizer Dave Vitiello said.
