Employers push back against inconsistent hospital pricing

Some employers, notably the California Public Employees' Retirement System, are placing caps on how much they will pay for workers to undergo certain tests and procedures. The strategy is a reaction to the "completely irrational pricing structure hospitals have,” says Ann Boynton, a benefits executive at CalPERS.
