Google exec: Brainteasers are useless during interviews

Google has performed studies on hiring and found that the best interview questions delve into candidates' past experiences, says Laszlo Bock, senior vice president of people operations at Google. Brainteasers and hypothetical questions, on the other hand, are a "complete waste of time," he says. "They don't predict anything. They serve primarily to make the interviewer feel smart."
