ISDA raises concerns over Canada's proposal to register derivatives users

ISDA has sent a letter to the Canadian Securities Administrators expressing concern about a proposal to require derivatives users to register, saying it could reduce liquidity. ISDA wants the CSA "to consider the global nature of the markets ... to ensure that regulations do not restrict the ability of Canada market participants to continue participating in, and remaining competitive in, the global [over-the-counter] derivatives market."
