To settle a two-year-old lawsuit over unauthorized purchases of App Store applications and in-app features by children, Apple is offering $5 iTunes gift cards for any purchases of less than $30 or credit "equal to the total amount of Game Currency that a minor charged to your iTunes account without your knowledge or permission within a single forty-five day period." The legal settlement must be accepted by Jan. 13, 2014, according to an e-mail sent to parents involved in the class-action lawsuit.
