Pediatric group targets transition to adult care for young HIV patients

Doctors of children and teens with HIV should collaborate to create a formal transition process from pediatric care to adult health care, according to an American Academy of Pediatrics policy statement published in the journal Pediatrics. Both providers and parents of young patients should regularly check to see that health care coverage continues during the transition process, researchers said.
