Study finds room for improvement in teacher training

A recently released study from the National Council on Teacher Quality found deficiencies with teacher-training programs nationwide. However, while some say there is room for improvement, the findings also have been dismissed by some groups. "Every teacher I've spoken to says it take[s] a good five years until you feel like you are competent, but it has nothing to do with teacher prep. Good teachers aren't created overnight," teacher Monique Clifford said. "No one can say we have the best way to prepare a teacher. It is a complex system of components that are very human."
