Supreme Court ruling could make workplace bias tougher to prove

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled, 5-4, that the definition of supervisor when it comes to workplace discrimination claims is limited to those with hiring and firing power. Several justices strongly criticized the ruling, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who said it showed a "disregard for the realities of the workplace." The underlying case involved an African-American kitchen worker at Ball State University who said she was harassed by co-workers.
