ISDA rejects request to rule on whether Argentina triggered CDS

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association has posted on its website that its Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee will not rule on whether Argentina might have triggered credit default swaps covering the country's debt. A US law firm had asked ISDA for a ruling on behalf of a CDS holder. The firm says statements by Argentina's economy minister constitute a "potential repudiation/moratorium event" that could trigger a CDS payout.
