Work on Fox River Bridge in Ill. begins as part of $2.5B I-90 rebuild

Work on the Fox River Bridge project in Illinois is slated to begin. The project is part of the $2.5 billion rebuilding and widening project on Interstate 90, also known as the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway. Crews will start moving equipment to the job site this week. Later, they will remove a pedestrian and bicycle bridge under the structure and then build two construction platforms. Eventually, a pair of bridge structures will be built to widen the Fox River Bridge and a new pedestrian bridge will be constructed.
