Camp gives girls hands-on lessons in construction

The Tucson, Ariz., chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction hosted 36 girls last week in a Mentoring a Girl in Construction Camp that offered hands-on training in some basic carpentry and electrical work as well as introducing participants to possible construction careers. Wearing pink hard hats and tool belts fitted with pink tools, the girls made wooden toolkits, wired lamps and did some welding.
