IBD patients on corticosteroids may have increased risk of death

A study in the American Journal of Gastroenterology found that IBD patients treated with corticosteroids, but not thiopurines, have an increased mortality risk. However, the researchers said they could not determine whether the increased risk was caused by the medication or the underlying disease.
