Scam sites con through claims of CARS connection

Web sites claiming alliance with the Car Allowance Rebate System should not be trusted, warns the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. CARS, a program passed by Congress but not yet approved by President Barack Obama, is intended as a means to increase the number of fuel-efficient cars on the street and stimulate the economy by providing rebates to those who trade in their old vehicles for low-energy cars. Some scammers are getting a jump start on the program with sites that look official, say NHTSA officials.
