Airline policy: No pet turtles in the cabin

Sisters carrying a turtle home from Atlanta to Milwaukee were told they could not have their pet in the flight cabin. A spokesman for AirTran says the airline's policy bars animals other than cats, dogs and household birds. He also cited a CDC report, saying turtles have been known to carry salmonella. In the end, AirTran arranged for the turtle to fly as cargo.
