Massachusetts Senate amends bill to ban smoking in casinos

The Massachusetts Senate voted to ban smoking throughout casinos in an amendment to the state's expanded-gambling bill. "Only in Massachusetts would we have a casino bill and try to build a politically correct casino," said Richard Tisei, the Senate Republican leader. Connecticut's casinos allow smoking, and some lawmakers warned that Massachusetts could lose up to $94 million a year in revenue because of the smoking ban.
