Teacher: Why blogging should replace the essay

High-school English teacher Shelley Wright in this blog post questions whether the five-paragraph essay is the best method for teaching students how to write. Instead, she suggests, blogging might be a better option -- providing a new take on the persuasive essay. In a blog, students must write in different ways and in an different voice but still provide fluidity and coherent thought. To help students become familiar with blogging, Wright suggests students learn to write blogs at an early age.
