AT&T to expand "innovation centers"

AT&T will boost its investment in connected devices when it opens two more "innovation centers" -- one in Atlanta and the other in Plano, Texas, where the carrier already operates a similar foundry. The Atlanta facility will work to advance AT&T's Digital Life strategy of connecting mobile devices to consumer appliances and cars, while the Plano plant will focus on machine-to-machine connections, AT&T says. The telecom already operates three such foundries, in which AT&T tries to tap into communities of talented young engineers.
