Calif. lawmakers expected to OK off-reservation casino

The California Senate is expected to pass a bill that would allow the state's first tribal casino located off an Indian reservation. The North Fork Rancheria Band of Mono Indians has proposed building a tribal casino near Madera, Calif. "Ratification of our compact is going to bring jobs to the area and build up the economy," said North Fork tribe Chairwoman Elaine Bethel Fink.
