CFPB refines new rules on lending, servicing

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has offered modifications to several of its new mortgage regulations. The qualified-mortgage rule, loan originator compensation and rural-lending rules were all part of the revamped regulations. "Today's proposal revises and clarifies certain aspects of our rules to ease implementation and to pave the way for more effective consumer protections in the marketplace," CFPB Director Richard Cordray said.
