China's shadow banking recalls U.S. subprime crisis

China's growing mix of informal lenders known collectively as the shadow banking system is duplicating many of the functions of Wall Street in the U.S. Fears are mounting that this unrestrained lending is re-creating the conditions that led to the U.S. subprime-mortgage meltdown.
