Learning lessons from closed courses

Since 2001, more than 1,400 American golf courses have closed their doors -- so what has become of those large pieces of prime real estate? The National Golf Foundation found that of the closures, mostly lower fee/lower quality public courses were affected and about 70% of all closed golf courses have yet to be re-purposed.
