Majority of fourth-year med students fail to diagnose melanoma

More than 77% of fourth-year medical students at the University of Illinois at Chicago failed to diagnose melanoma in a simulated encounter involving a standardized patient. The results point to a need for an improved dermatology curriculum, the researchers said.
