McKeon criticizes Army's plans to cut 80,000 troops

Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif., warned this week that the Army's plan to shrink its troops by 80,000 is the beginning of even deeper cuts that will leave the U.S. unprepared to defend itself. "America learned the hard way that our pre-9/11 military was too small," said McKeon, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. "Now ... we are reducing the force to that same size and foolishly expecting history to teach us a different lesson."
