New York City launches massive bike sharing program

After years of planning and adding more than 200 miles of bike lanes on city streets, New York City launched its bike sharing program this spring. Biking is a good way to get around and increase activity, exercise physiologist Robert Oppliger said, and the bike share program will afford more New Yorkers the opportunity to use a bike rather than a car for their short-distance travel.
