Ohio legislators consider teen tanning ban

An Ohio House committee is considering a bill that would require a doctor's prescription for minors to use tanning beds. Dermatologist and ASDS member Margaret Mann said she uses phototherapy to treat some patients with psoriasis and eczema, but the treatment is done safely, in her office, where it is supervised. People younger than 30 who regularly use tanning beds raise their risk for melanoma by 75%, Mann said.
