Rotavirus, Tdap vaccines are hot topics at ACIP meeting

The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices discussed a slightly higher risk for intussception with the rotavirus vaccine at a recent meeting, but the committee did not alter its recommendations for the vaccine. The committee also recommended a change in the administration of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis vaccine, eliminating the recommendation for a Tdap booster in most cases and calling for a tetanus and diphtheria toxoids booster instead.
