SEC's White wants more examiners

Mary Jo White, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, wants to increase the SEC's examiner count by 250, a position she is likely to prioritize this week when talking to a Senate budget panel. Adding 250 examiners would increase the SEC's examination coverage only to 16%. The regulatory agency would need between 1,800 and 2,000 more examiners to properly fulfill its mandate, one source said.
