Transportation Security Administration screeners take longer to screen than amateurs, but they are more effective, a study has found. "The TSA officers were more accurate in finding the target" than were the college students who participated in the research, said Stephen Mitroff, a Duke University psychologist who led the study. "They also took more time, so it's more of a methodical search, which led to better performance." The study was part of a Department of Homeland Security initiative.
