USPSTF: Screen baby boomers, high-risk patients for hepatitis C

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force on Monday released final recommendations urging doctors to screen baby boomers and high-risk patients for hepatitis C. The agency also found that tools used in evaluating liver health and guiding treatment are becoming safer, and that adverse effects associated with hepatitis C drugs are negligible. The recommendations appear in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
