Exchanges win SEC nod on test to combat dark-pool drain

The Securities and Exchange Commission will permit leading exchanges to test a system that would limit trading outside the bourses unless a competitor offers a better lot size or significant price gap. The pilot program is a win for the exchanges, which have lost as much as 37% of volume to competing dark pools, according to Bloomberg data.
