Google tech conference draws more women than last year

Women will comprise 20% of the 6,000 attendees at Google's annual conference for software developers, up from 8% last year. The increase is part of Google's effort to shrink the gender gap in the industry. "Twenty percent is not 50 percent, which is where we want to be," Google Vice President Megan Smith said. "But the trajectory is good."
