Preschool program uses scarves, songs to teach math

Educators in a preschool program in New Orleans use scarves, dances and songs to help teach young children about algebraic concepts. "We were using elements of patterns, which is the beginning of algebraic thinking for children this age, and also counting, sequential counting, and line order," teacher Nanette Ledet said.
