Study: Millennials are overtaking baby boomers in travel

Millennials are on their way to edging out baby boomers as top travel consumers and spenders, the 2014 Portrait of American Travelers by MMGY Global found. A net 10% of millennial travelers plan to take more overnight trips over the next 12 months; other generations saw net losses in the number of travelers. Travel spending by millennials is expected to overtake that of all other generations, reaching an average of $887 on a previous-year base of $4,499.
