Cruise lines are setting in motion ambitious marketing campaigns along with discounts to lure cruisers aboard despite the economic downturn and soaring fuel prices. An overabundance of capacity on the ships coupled with the fuel costs have analysts concerned about the cruise lines' future profits. "These are solid sound companies, the cruise lines," said Oivind Mathisen, editor of Cruise Industry News. "They make a ton, but they don't make as much as they used to, and Wall Street wants more."
