Located in the Mediterranean Sea just south of Sicily, Malta is a an archipelago of a handful of islands that has long been a key location for control of the area's naval traffic. Thus, the island has been influenced by everyone from the Romans to the British. That influence can be seen in Malta's museums, town squares, architecture and cuisine.
