IAB's Rothenberg appears before House panel

In testimony before the House Small Business Committee Subcommittee on Regulations, Healthcare and Trade, IAB President-CEO Randall Rothenberg urged lawmakers to proceed cautiously in considering the need for any new online ad regulation, saying, "We have a system that ain't broke at all so I'd be very careful of going across that bridge from research, inspection, exploration, into regulation without very careful scrutiny." Although some members of the panel expressed concern with the antitrust implications of the Google-Yahoo! search ad deal, they reportedly seemed reluctant to call for regulations at this time.
