CDC: Almost 50% of HIV-positive young people are unaware of status

Forty-eight percent of HIV-positive adolescents and young adults are unaware of their status, CDC researchers said after reviewing data from a 2007 survey of students in grades 9 through 12. Researchers also found only 22% of sexually active high-school students get tested for HIV, with older students and girls more likely to have an HIV test.
