Children with Type 1 diabetes are more likely to be overweight

Study results showed that the prevalence of being overweight was 22.1% among children ages 3 to 19 with Type 1 diabetes, compared with 16.1% for youngsters who did not have the disease, according to pediatric researchers. However, the study found that obesity rates were similar between children with and without Type 1 diabetes.
